A recently found reference indicates that Robert first farmed (owned?) the Ford Farm, on Paisley Road in Guelph Township. It is possible (even probable) that the children older than John Barber were born on this farm, whereas John Barber was born on the Gerrow Farm, near the 'new farm' in Eramosa Township, Wellington County, on Concession 2 Lot 4 (SE quarter). Robert farmed there for a number of years before moving to farm on Concession 7 Lot 12.
